Müge Simsek works as a postdoctoral researcher at NIDI-KNAW on Helga de Valk’s ERC project ‘MYMOVE: Migrant youth mobility in Europe: Patterns, Processes and Consequences’. In her PhD dissertation, she examined the religious differences between native and immigrant youth and the role of religion in adolescents’ social networks in ethnically and religiously diverse school classes in Western Europe. She is also a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Sociology at Utrecht University where she carries out research on the organization of science and inequality in academia. She is also a member of the Interuniversity Center for Social Science Theory and Methodology (ICS).
