My name is Alex Kortink Boada, and I am a junior researcher at the Generations and Gender Programme (GGP). Before joining GGP, I worked as a student assistant for the AB2050 project and supported the facilities team at NIDI. Originally from Barcelona, my curiosity about how societies function led me to the Netherlands, where I pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration at the University of Twente. After a gap year traveling across West Africa, I completed a Research Master in Migration, Ethnic Relations, and Multiculturalism at Utrecht University. My master’s thesis examined support for the populist radical right from an emotional perspective. Specifically, I explored how national nostalgia and national hope related to support for these parties, and whether inclusive or exclusionary national identities conditioned this relationship. My research interests are broad, ranging from intergroup relations to understanding how political and policy preferences are shaped.
