Het NIDI is het nationale demografisch onderzoeksinstituut. Het NIDI doet toonaangevend wetenschappelijk onderzoek naar bevolkingsvraagstukken en levert daarmee een bijdrage aan oplossingen voor maatschappelijke uitdagingen. Kenmerkend is de interdisciplinaire en internationale aanpak rond een aantal kernthema’s.
Het NIDI is een instituut van de Koninklijke Nederlandse Akademie van Wetenschappen en is geaffilieerd met de Rijksuniversiteit Groningen.
