Thomas Verhage is a PhD researcher on the topic of cultural participation. His research focuses on how, and most importantly why, the audience of classical music is aging. This project is supervised by Matthijs Kalmijn and Kène Henkens. Before joining NIDI, Thomas obtained a research master’s degree in social psychology (Vrije Universiteit) and a bachelor’s in psychobiology (University of Amsterdam). This background in psychology and biology contributes to his interest in human behavior, and more specifically, what drives this behavior.
