Results from the first Generations and Gender Survey (GGS) in the Republic of Moldova were presented at a hybrid event on 8 December. The GGS is a survey coordinated at NIDI and which has been carried out in more than 30 countries. The Moldovan survey was made possible thanks to a collaboration between the Netherlands Interdisciplinary Demographic Institute (NIDI), the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection (MoLSP) of the Republic of Moldova, the Moldova National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), and the United Nations Fund for Population Office country office in Moldova. The data will assist the Republic of Moldova with strengthening its capacity to understand and anticipate the population dynamics that it is experiencing. NIDI’s Anne Gauthier and director of the GGP (Generations and Gender Programme) participated in the hybrid event to further explain how the GGS data will provide empirical evidence to help formulate the best policies to support demographic resilience.
