GRAPHIA (Knowledge Graphs, AI Services and Next Generation Instrumentation for R&D in Social Sciences and Humanities) is a Horizon Europe project running from January 2025 to December 2027, coordinated by OPERAS, that is building the first comprehensive knowledge graph for the social sciences and humanities. The Generations and Gender Programme takes part as a use case partner alongside GESIS.
Within this project, NIDI develops a knowledge graph over GGP survey metadata that links topics, variables, questionnaire waves, countries, and scholarly publications into a single queryable structure. The work has three strands: modelling the GGP codebooks and DDI Lifecycle metadata as a graph, testing AI-driven tools that trace references to GGP datasets and variables in the scientific literature, and contributing to metadata standardisation so that GGP data interoperate with other SSH resources. The result should make it easier for researchers to discover which GGP data answer their question and to see how those data have been used before.
