Katharina is a post-doctoral researcher at NIDI and serves as the data dissemination officer for the Generations and Gender Programme (GGP). She holds a PhD in Public Health, and a Master’s degree in Psychology from the University of Groningen.
Her research explores the relationship between objective health indicators – such as hypertension, BMI, or biomarkers – as well as health behaviours, and life course transitions, including changes in employment status and residential mobility.
At GGP she is involved in data dissemination and impact activities, fostering international partnership and policy related activities.
In October 2024 she successfully defended her doctoral thesis entitled ‘Metabolic syndrome and employment exit: Longitudinal findings from the Lifelines Cohort Study and Biobank‘ at the University of Groningen.
