Roos van der Zwan is a postdoctoral researcher at NIDI who focuses on diversity and inclusion from an interdisciplinary perspective. In 2020, she won the Instituut Gak-KNAW award. In her Instituut Gak-KNAW project she examines the labour market position of refugees in the Netherlands. She studies the differences in the position of male and female refugees and to what extent life course events affect their position on the labour market.
She is also part of the COGIS-NL team, examining gender (in)equalities during COVID-19.
Roos van de Zwan obtained her PhD at the Radboud University Nijmegen in 2019. Her PhD project focused on the political representation of citizens of immigrant origin and its influence on their vote choice. After finishing her PhD, she worked on a project about the labour market participation of persons with disabilities at the University of Amsterdam.
