Before joining NIDI as a PhD candidate, I started with a bachelor’s degree in Hotel and Hospitality Management. Through an unusual trajectory, I gained experience in doing both quantitative and qualitative research in master’s programmes in political and cultural sociology at Erasmus University Rotterdam. After religion and gender attitudes, and perceptions of democracy, my current project focuses on how the transition into retirement affects the social contacts that individuals maintain.
