Juul Spaan is a PhD candidate at NIDI. She is currently working on her doctoral research within the NWO funded project “A Place to Grow Old? The Risks and Rewards of Retirement Migration” by Prof. M. Kalmijn, Prof. C.J.I.M. Henkens, and Prof. H.P. van Dalen. Her particular interest lies with the social risks that come with an international move later in life. Prior to joining NIDI, she obtained a Research Master’s degree in Social Sciences from the University of Amsterdam, for which she wrote a thesis on parent-child relationships following divorce.
